    Youtube Channels To Follow If You Are A Finance Nerd

    Having some form of financial literacy is a valuable skill and asset. Whilst there is a slew of information, different channels and videos available online. As a Singapore recruitment agency that prioritises the well being of our job seekers. We've curated a list of YouTube channels that we personally find helpful.

    Keep in mind that we are no financial planning experts. Additionally, we'll be featuring channels that cover a wide array of concepts, from Accounts Receivable to Investment to Auditing. Let's dive right into it!

    1. NerdWallet

    NerdWallet aims to provide objective advice, expert information, and helpful tools to educate their viewers on how to make smart financial decisions with confidence. Think of them as though they are your financial advisors, minus the fact that the information they share with you is objective and not tailored for you. Albeit this channel focuses on personal finance, some of the advice can still be directed and adjusted to fit your company’s needs.

    2. Finematics

    Finematics is a channel that shares interesting and useful videos about DeFi (Decentralised Finance), Finance, Crypto, Software Engineering, and Computer Science. Don't worry if maths and finance are not your strong suit. The channel chooses to share their knowledge through the use of animation and information is shared in bite-sized pieces. We found this channel to be exceptionally helpful for beginners who are looking to start learning about crypto and how the financial market works.

    3. GaryVee

    With more than 3 million subscribers, GaryVee is no stranger to some of you. But for those unaware, Gary Vaynerchuk is the chairman of VaynerX, a modern-day media and communication holding company. He also holds the title as the active CEO of VaynerMedia, a full-service advertising agency. Vaynerchuk is also an investor to well-known companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Venmo. It is pretty safe to say that he is one of the influential people that have the ability to share his knowledge well and be relatable.

    What's different about Vaynerchuk's content is that he focuses mostly on motivational speeches. There are some videos covering topics such as investing and finances. This is definitely a helpful channel for beginners looking to begin their financial journey. Not to mention, his motivational videos may also help you to get fired up to tackle the problems at work too!

    4. Business Casual

    Business Casual focuses on creating documentary-style commentary, explaining the history of financial events, companies, and influential people that have shaped our industry today. This is a channel perfect for people who would prefer to understand the history of financial leaders as well as the thought process behind prominent companies. At the end of every video, you will feel inspired and maybe learn a thing or two on ways to improve your own financial decisions.

    5. Company Man

    With a self-explanatory name, Company Man creates videos to explain how certain companies are successful and why other companies are not as successful. Through their informative short clips, you can have a better understanding of the financial decisions of the companies and learn through them to value add to your company meetings to help achieve your company’s goals.

    By looking at the history of these companies, you can also value add to the conversation during the interview boards for your new job. For example, when the interviewer asks you if there are any plans that you may think of to improve the company’s progress, you could bring up examples of how big companies succeed in the past.

    6. Accounting Stuff

    Accounting Stuff is another self-explanatory channel. The channel creates content about the basics of accounting, such as cash flow statements, balance sheets, and income statements. This is exceptionally useful for people who are just starting out in their financial career and still have some uncertainty with regards to their profession, and also for students who are studying accounting in their tertiary education. There are also some cheat sheets available at a reasonable price for you to refer to, especially helpful whenever it comes to starting out your career.

    7. Leila Gharani

    Leila Gharani has a strong background in the finance sector with her Masters in Economics. She understands the struggles of paper works and how time can be better spent on other activities that matter. The content that she specialises in is tips and tricks for Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office products. Now that working from home is the new normal, Microsoft Teams is one of the common platforms used by companies to communicate with their employees. Interestingly, Gharani also provides tips and tricks on how to use Microsoft Teams to fully utilise them.

    8. CPA Strength

    CPA (A.K.A. Certified Public Accountant) is a channel that focuses on two aspects of life, accounting and strength training, where can you find a channel that provides the best of both worlds? Both the brains and the brawns, all together in one channel.

    This channel is suitable for people who are trying to learn accounting as they provide tips and tricks on the accounting basics through crash courses in short simple clips that make it easily digestible for beginners. It also serves as a good refresher for accountants when they need it.

Since our attention spans are getting shorter with the rise of the technological era, these videos are great because they are short, and the information is bite-size.
