    In this article, Singapore recruitment agency BGC Group will be listing 10 of the most in-demand jobs in Singapore this 2019. Are you ready? Read to find out more.


    1. Accounting

    Believe it or not, accounting is one of the hottest roles in Singapore this year. It is estimated that approximately 2,000 new accounting jobs will be created by 2020. Other in-demand roles in this sector include accounts assistant, accountant, financial planning and analysis.

    Financial services are one of the key drivers of employment growth in the first quarter of 2019. Additionally, it is reported that the government has set a target of creating 3,000 jobs between 2018 and 2020.


    2. Aged Care Workers


    In case you haven’t heard, Singapore is a country with an aging population. It is estimated that by 2050, over 40% of Singapore’s population will be over 60 years old. Which is why the Ministry of Health has predicted that Singapore will need an additional 30,000 health workers in various age care positions by 2020.

    3. Cybersecurity Specialists


    With a number of data breaches occurring in Singapore, it’s no wonder that cybersecurity specialists are a booming profession. These specialists are hired to protect sensitive information stored in platforms such as computer networks, cloud servers, and mobile devices to name a few.

    Other tasks typically include designing firewalls, monitor the use of data files, and protect the network.     With specific talents in demand within the IT, digital, and technology sector, those interested can expect pay hikes of up to 20 percent in these industries.

    Unlike the other industries featured in this article, the sales and retail sector is one that thrives on staff retention. Luckily for those interested, the main qualifications needed are your secondary school (O/N levels) certificate.

    9. UI/UX Professionals  


    If it seems like the tech sector is hot right now, it’s because it’s in high demand. It’s because it is. Think about it, with more and more services moving online, there is a need to redesign websites and apps in order to provide the ultimate user experience.

    Which is why the role of a User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) professional is in high demand. For reference, there were approximately 800 UX and UI positions open in Singapore at the end of 2018.
